Introduction

For this project, my goal was to brand a ski resort. I used inspiration of vintage ski posters to frame my colors and wanted to spin this into a modern design identity. My original idea was to take an existing ski resort and rebrand it but as I got further into the research, I ended up changing the name and many aspects of the original brand that it was very farfetched from the existing brand.

Objective

The problem I was trying to solve was the ability to take inspiration from vintage and existing visual ideas and turn them into a unique and modern brand design. I think it’s important for your project to emulate designs/movements that inspire you.

approach

For my process, I really wanted to design a brand in which I had several logos that would still feel cohesive in a brand. I got a lot of inspiration in which there were multiple marks that worked for different applications and felt as though those brands were very strong because of the multiple logo marks. One of the biggest challenges I faced was late in the logo development. I used a typeface but needed to alter it and took many iterations to finally get to my final word mark.
